WILMETTE, Ill –Regina Dominican High School is proud to announce that basketball Coach, Bob Newton, has been named Coach of the Year by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association(IBCA). Coach Newton had an incredible season with the Varsity Panthers, bringing home back-to-back Regional Championships with an overall 18-11 season.
Coach Newton has been the Head Basketball Coach at Regina Dominican for 10 seasons and counting. He is also the proud parent of Regina Dominican graduate, Maeve ‘21, and his wife, Meaghan ‘86, who graduated from Regina Dominican as well.
"We are very excited to see Coach Newton honored by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association. Coach Newton has done a great job fostering a culture of success at Regina Dominican. Coach Newton and his staff are great representatives of the Regina Dominican community and teach our student-athletes life skills on and off the court." said Regina Dominican Athletic Director, Brian Mancuso.
The IBCA will be honoring recipients of this award on Saturday, May 6th, at Redbird Arena, on the campus of Illinois State University.
