Regina Dominican celebrates new school President with a community Mass and Installation Ceremony

Wilmette, IL – Regina Dominican High School was thrilled to celebrate the Installation Ceremony and Mass of the new President, Krista Gallagher. The ceremony took place on Sunday, August 25, 2024, and included school faculty, staff, current families, students, alumnae, supporters and family and friends of Krista Gallagher.

Mass was presided over by Father Peter Wojcik (St. Clement Parish) and concelebrants Father Wayne Watts (Saints JFX Parish) and Father Robert Ryan (Saints JFX Parish). Leading the installation ceremony was Adrian Dominican Sister, S. Mary Margaret Pachucki, OP and the Executive Director of Dominican Veritas Ministries, Dr. Kristin Melley.

“ As I learned more and more about Regina Dominican, I found that the Dominican pillars of prayer, study, community, and service are at the heart of what makes this place so special. The power of single-sex education is immense. In today’s world, all-girls schools are single-sex by design and their impact on girls is meaningful.” stated President Gallagher in her remarks to those in attendance.

The Regina Dominican Board of Directors announced Krista Gallagher as the school’s next President in May. Krista holds a B.A. from Duke University and an MBA from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.  Her work experience at McKinsey & Company and JPMorgan Chase adds strength to her impressive credentials.

She brings a dynamic blend of leadership and marketing expertise along with a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the values and mission of Regina Dominican’s Catholic educational community.

During her remarks on Sunday, Krista was able to amplify the impact that Regina Dominican has on students and the importance of the school within the north shore community “Regina Dominican takes that all-girls strength and wraps it in the envelope of Dominican values. Truth-seeking, independent thinking, and compassionate leadership are reinforced in every team, in every classroom, and at every event. There is no greater source of confidence than the knowledge that God placed you here for a reason. Regina girls know that they are valued.”

Regina Dominican just kicked off the 65th school year since it’s founding in 1958 and is looking forward to another record-breaking year, resembling that of the 23-24 school year. With Krista Gallagher at the helm, the extraordinary successes of Regina Dominican students will continue. The opportunities are endless.
