Paws Up and congratulations to Ella Smolka '26 for being included in the GOA Global Capstone Showcase! Out of over 1,300 projects submitted this semester, only 54 have been selected as exemplary—Ella's among them. These outstanding projects are featured in the 2024-2025 Global Capstone Showcase alongside other remarkable work from previous semesters.
Last semester, Ella took a GOA class "Intro to Branding and Marketing" and her capstone project brought fourth the question "What makes hobbies inaccessible, and how can having an inexpensive and in person opportunitY help screen free activities thrive and grow?".
Based on research and her own personal experience, Ella highlighted the impact social media marketing has on individuals and how healthy hobbies can combat excessive screen time. Ella use her experience from picking up the hobby of crocheting as an example.
