Wilmette, IL- The Regina Dominican Robotics Team, known as the “Regina Riveters,” has made an extraordinary impact at the FIRST Robotics Competition Midwest Regional, securing an impressive 28th place out of 38 teams. The competition, which featured a remarkable lineup of 7 international teams from Croatia, Mexico, China, Japan, Türkiye, and India, showcased fierce competition and innovation in robotics.
In addition to their ranking, the Regina Riveters were honored with the prestigious Team Spirit Award. This award recognizes their unwavering enthusiasm, dedication, and exceptional teamwork, embodying the true spirit of the competition. The team's positive energy and collaborative attitude left a lasting impression on both competitors and event organizers alike.
Members of the Regina Riveters also received the “Gracious Professionalism” recognition pin. This award was given to the team for their assistance to another team that lacked enough students to drive their robot. The Riveters' willingness to lend a helping hand and exemplify kindness and cooperation in the robotics community is a testament to what it means to be a Regina Girl!
A special congratulations goes to Team 9669 for their exceptional performance at the event. The Regina Riveters are also incredibly proud to have been the only all-girls team represented at this prestigious competition, breaking barriers and inspiring future generations of female engineers, innovators, and leaders.
